Reflecting on this retreat feels immense, a whirlwind of inspiration, discovery, and fearless creativity. 💡

We began with a warm welcome, stepping into a space designed to spark connection. 🔗 Creating sonic soundscapes pushed me out of my comfort zone, but as I relaxed, I found inspiration and space to reflect. 🎵💫 With themes of openness and adventure, I put aside self-doubt and embraced the process.

As curiosity awakened, so did courage. We explored what it means to be fearless, not just in creativity, but in life. What happens when we embrace risk? 🚀

On Saturday, after the rain, we walked to Parc de la Ciutadella. 🌳 Spontaneous salsa dancing, 💃 singing in the bandstand, 🎤 the hum of Barcelona’s heartbeat and a soundscape of children’s laughter, music and birdsong. 🎶🕊️ Nature really does speak & sing 🌍🎧

Back at the venue, the focus turned to confidence in performance, owning our space, trusting our voices, and letting creativity take centre stage. 🎭🎙️ It wasn’t just about technique, it was about energy, presence and belief.

Sunday carried a different magic. ✨ We played with lyrics, rhyme and the rhythm of language. 🎼 I collaborated writing my first song ever with Frank and Liz and I loved the process 🎶✍️

By the final masterclass, there was a shared understanding, a journey taken together, new skills discovered, and deeper connections formed. 🤝 The retreat reflection was filled with huge gratitude for the weekend from @suziecollier & her team. Suzie’s skills at being able to bring a group together are a total inspiration.

Beyond the sessions, meals together encouraged community and friendships 🍽️ Every conversation, every moment of stillness, every unexpected insight wove into the experience.

More than a retreat, it was an immersion into creativity, courage, and connection. 💫 A much needed time out. 🚀 My heart is full and grateful.

Spring is in the air! 🌸 After a hectic few months, I am enjoying a week off touring Europe. From Serbia to Gibraltar, Seville, and now the ancient city of Cadiz for Carnival 🎉

This is the largest carnival outside São Paulo, ten days of dancing, music, and with bespoke performer costumes on every street! 🎭💃 The squares are buzzing with flamenco rhythms, drummers, choirs and the scent of tapas & orange blossom. 🎶✨

Today is Shrove Tuesday, but no pancakes yet! 🥞 Tomorrow’s my birthday, and I’m so happy to be celebrating in the sunshine and grateful for the year to date☀️

The 17th Green Events & Innovations Conference brought together 400+ delegates at the Royal Lancaster London—uniting industry leaders, artists, and policymakers to drive real change in events to make them more sustainable.

Some of my highlights? The Food & Drink Panel 🍽️ and listening to the incredible @MadameGandhi 🎶—both sparked deep reflections on personal responsibility and systemic change in sustainability. 🌍 How can we eat less meat, reduce consumption, manage excessive riders and should we all become vegan 🥑?

✨ Reflecting on a fantastic two days at the @ntiaofficial Night Time Summit in Birmingham! ✨

I had the privilege of meeting inspiring attendees who shared their experiences of working in the night-time industries, their challenges with 😴 sleep, 🥗 nutrition, 🏃‍♀️ exercise, and finding time to relax.

Many took time out in my Relaxation Chair 🪑, had their blood pressure measured 🩺, and asked about our 1-2-1 consultations, Workshops and Organisational Strategies 📈. These conversations reinforced just how essential this campaign is for the music industry. 🎵

My advice? Start small. 🌱 Focus on micro changes in these four pillars of health:
🍏Nutrition: Look after your gut biome, eat more fruit & veg, add more fibre and healthy fats like Extra Virgin Olive Oil to your diet.
🛌 Sleep: Optimise your sleep environment, no phone or TV in your bedroom, black out curtains, stop work an hour before bed, small tweaks make a big difference.
💃 Movement: Dance more, walking 5 times a week for half an hour will change your life, movement is medicine!
🌊 Relaxation: Actively plan time to recharge. Choose a new hobby, find things that make you laugh. We have loads of strategies around these four pillars so please speak to the team about your requirements and what you are struggling with.

This summit was a powerful reminder that well-being in the night-time economy matters. First stop: a talk at @shesaidso.ams HQ at @fugamusic 🎶. We dived into all things @eatsleepraverelax 🌈, complete with a mini rave 💃, breathing exercises 🧘‍♀️, relaxation techniques 🌿, and tips for sustainable changes to our diet and wellbeing 🍎✨. Huge thanks to @chchow & @melissadengelbronner for organising it all and for picking the track we raved to! 🎵🙌

Next up: exploring my fave spots in Amsterdam 🚲💛 before hopping on the train 🚆 to Groningen – a stunning university town turned live music haven for @esns.nl 🎸🎤. How have I never been before?! I was blown away by new talent inc. @mrcy.mrcy.mrcy & @alessirose 🌟, and so many others!

Sharing ideas with Prof Bianaca, a government official, and an activist - @louise_queengreen made for an inspiring session on behavioural change at festivals and live events 🌍🎪. Wjat does good look like? How can we model excellence and provoke thought in our music, Art and practice? Excited to develop these ideas more & collaborate with the team on this through 2025. 💚💚💚#

Other highlights? The “Schotland” Music Mixer with @widedays served vegan broth, veggie haggis, chips, deep-fried Mars Bars 🍫, and whisky chasers 🥃 – not for the faint-hearted! 😂(The broth was heavenly)

Europe’s live music scene is SO diverse and rich 🎶. With all eyes on the US for streaming success 📈, it’s a powerful reminder of the talent and culture we have right here on our doorstep 🌍❤️.

I’m honoured to be speaking at @esns.nl Conference in January in Groningen 🎤✨ on a topic I think about daily as a Health Professional: Behavioural Change 🧠🌱. I support individuals to change their behaviour to benefit their health, sometimes it can be challenging to achieve sustainable, long lasting change. There are lots of elements to personal and group change and we will be discussing them in Groningen 🇳🇱 in January.

This song broke the band and gave them global success. A wonderful night with friends @whalleybird Jon and @helenanndavis1. We missed @happy_to_be_rachie who couldn’t make it. It was amazing gig and reminded me why I love live music so much. As George said it connects you to each other and yourself, he created Culture Club to bring different people, nations, colours and genders together and amazing to see his global affect. 🎉 A brilliant report from @youthmusicuk called “Industry Connect” looking at barriers that exist for young creatives in the music industry, came out today. Having worked with hundreds of emerging artists, I can confidently say this report rings true.
📊 The main findings are as follows:
* 🎵 Better integration of industry and education through a national music strategy is needed.
* 📚 Re-imagining and modernising of curriculums & careers advice
* 🛠️ Addressing gaps in current programmes that fail to teach young people the skills needed for sustainable careers in modern music industries
* 💼 Preparing students for self-employment as 70% of the music industry workforce operates in this way, which many college and university courses overlook
* 🎭 Expanding focus beyond artist and performer roles to address skills shortages in areas like digital & offstage roles
* 💡 Enhancing non-formal pathways programmes and increasing access to finance for emerging talent
* 🛡️ Establishing safer working cultures across the music industry

⚠️ Key takeaway: Provisions currently offered are falling short. They are not equipping young people with the skills needed to excel in the modern music industry, limiting access to music careers and disproportionately impacting young people from marginalised groups - a sentiment strongly reflected in the Industry Connect report.
